I went down to San Antonio this past weekend. John talked me into doing a duatholon with him. I had to borrow a bike and helmet. I didn’t do much smiling after we took a before-race photo together, but I did finish with a respectable time for somebody that hasn’t touched a bicycle in almost 6 years.
Beth’s mother passed away on Nov 12 due to complications arising from Multiple Sclerosis.
We’ve set up a memorial fund with the National MS Society.

Here are some pics from our vacation to China. We were gone for 2 weeks and visited Shanghai, Xi’an, Beijing, Hong Kong, and Macau. It was a great trip. Now we need a vacation to recover from our vacation!
What should you do when you’re jetlagged and have been up for 36+ hours? Go get a kick-ass workout of course! I dropped in to see Andrew and the fine folks at Crossfit Sydney this afternoon. It was a tough workout. Double Unders and Clean and Jerks (hanging): 5 min, 3 min, 1 min for reps. Believe me, cleaning the bar is not as easy as it sounds after doing 5 minutes of double unders.

That was a great workout. I can’t wait to come back and try it again tommorrow.
So I arrived in Sydney this morning at 8AM local time. It took a little over a day of flying to get here. RDU - DFW - LAX - SYD. I’m staying at the Intercontinental hotel which is nice, if a little pricey. Unfortunately my room wasn’t ready when I arrived so I headed over to a nearby park to pass the time.
When I made it back to the hotel, my room was ready and it was worth the wait. I have an awesome view of the opera house and the harbor (not to mention the room itself isn’t too shabby either).
Beth and I recently celebrated our 1 year anniversary on June 3rd. Time flies when you’re having fun!
